City of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Office Addition

This addition to the Manhattan City Hall was necessary to accommodate the relocation of the Parks and Recreation Department from an outdated building in City Park.

The addition was designed to blend with the original 1957 building, using similar materials and profiling to achieve a singular building look and feel. The 4,000 s.f. addition included offices, flexible work areas, conference spaces, and a large break room. Natural daylight was brought into the interior work areas through the use of skylights, floor to ceiling windows, and floor to ceiling interior partitions. This reduces the energy requirements for artificial lighting and improves the quality of the overall work environment.

Improving the HVAC system in the City Hall Auditorium Gym were also part of this project. These improvements allowed the auditorium to be used for additional types of activities.
